Management changes in Nissan Russia

Andrey Chirkov (photo) has been appointed Managing Director of Nissan RBU East (the regional business subdivision of Nissan East) starting from 13 July 2022. He took over from Andrey Akifiev, who, after about 18 years with the company, decided to leave it.  According to the press service of the Japanese automaker, Nissan RBU East division is in charge of the markets of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. Andrey Chirkov, as the head of the division, will control several business areas - sales, marketing, dealer network development, after-sales service. The new leader has been with Nissan since 2011 in various positions and managed Datsun for some time (from 2017 to 2020). From 2020 until his new appointment, Chirkov headed Nissan's marketing department.

He will now report directly to Jordi Vila, Nissan’s divisional vice president for marketing and sales in Europe. Andrey Chirkov was born in 1983 in Udmurtia (Sarapul city) and has two higher educations. In 2006, he graduated from Izhevsk State Technical University and started working in the automotive industry at Nissan dealer center in Izhevsk, where in few years he was promoted to the head of the service department. In 2011, Andrey moved to the Russian division of Nissan. He is married and has three children.
