Chinese trucks took over 30% of the Russian market in June

In June 2022, sales of new Chinese trucks came up to 1,781 vehicles, that is 30.9% of the total market. This was found out by the experts of AUTOSTAT agency after the processing and analysis of the data from Electronic Passport company. The experts register a rapid growth in the share of Chinese trucks in the Russian market. If in January – March, it ranged from 9% to 10.5%, their share increased up to 18.4% in April, up to 25.4% in May and up to 30.9% in June. Thus, the share of Chinese brands has set new records for the last three months.

This situation is mostly due to the fact that European truck manufacturers suspended supplies to Russia under the sanctions, while Chinese companies have not acceded to the boycott. As a result, the share of Swedish brands decreased from 13% (at the beginning of the year) to 1.4% (in June), and German brands declined from 6% to 1.2%. If the shares of brands from France, the Netherlands and the USA was within 1-2% in January, today it has decreased almost to zero.
