The Russian car market grows for the second week in a row

The vehicle sales in Russia are growing for the second week in a row. This conclusion is made by the experts of AUTOSTAT agency after the processing of the data of Electronic Passport company.  Thus, for the period from June 27 to July 3, 2022 (week 26), the new vehicle sales came up to 12,194 vehicles. This number is 20% more than in the 25th week (10,179 vehicles). Then, the growth was also registered (+10%) comparing to the 24th week (9,232 vehicles). Experts of AUTOSTAT agency also report that the last weeks’ results were the best for the last three months.

Previously, such weekly volumes of new vehicle sales (more than 12 thousand vehicles) were registered at the end of March. As for the structure of sales by segments, almost three quarters (74%) accounted for passenger cars. Their number in the 26th week came up to 9,023 vehicles - 20% more than a week earlier. One in eight vehicles sold was a truck (1,520 vehicles; +12%), and approximately one in nine was a light commercial vehicle (1,401 vehicles; +28%). The remaining 250 vehicles were buses. Their sales increased by 35%.
