Are Russians ready to buy a car in 2022?


The market of trucks declined the least in Russia for 5 months


In January-May, 399.3 thousand new vehicles were sold in our country in the main segments of the market, which is 47% lower than a year ago. At the same time, for the specified period of time, one of the segments - buses - showed a slight increase (+16%), the remaining four - went into the red. Least of all, the fall affected the segment of trucks. Experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" came to this conclusion, evaluating the data of JSC "Electronic Passport". For five months since the beginning of the year, the market volume of new trucks has decreased by only 14% to 31.9 thousand units. And the largest drop was noted in the market of new passenger cars (-51%), a decrease down to 319.4 thousand units.

As for light commercial vehicles, sales of new LCVs fell by about a third (-33%), to 35.4 thousand units. Also in January-May, Russian residents purchased almost 7.2 thousand new motorcycles, which is 22% lower than a year ago. At the same time, according to experts, in the volumes of sold motorcycles for five months, the share of domestic brands was only 1%, for passenger cars, the country of origin "Russia" had 22%, the share of domestic brands was much more than half (70 % and 58%, respectively) - in the light commercial vehicles and trucks, it was the highest and reached 84% - in buses.
