In Russia, the share of sales of diesel cars is declining

Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" note the reduction in the share of sales of cars equipped with diesel engines. They make such a conclusion after processing and analyzing the data of Electronic Passport JSC (EPTS) on the market of new passenger cars in the Russian Federation. If we consider the results of monthly sales, then in January the share of diesel passenger cars was 7.7% of the total volume.

In February, this figure rose to 8.3%, and in March it reached 9.4%. But in April, the reverse process began, when the share of sales of diesel cars was 9.1%. In May, it fell to 6% altogether. The experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" connect the decrease in the share of "diesel" with the suspension of deliveries of almost all premium cars to our country due to anti-Russian sanctions. And they are sold by 40% just with diesel engines.

On the other hand, in the previous month of spring, the share of passenger cars with gasoline engines increased in the Russian market. If from January to April it decreased (from 90.5% to 88.4%), then in May it immediately increased to 92.4%.
