Koreans continue to «keep» the Russian car market

Despite the difficulties associated with the consequences of the "special operation", the Korean brands Kia, Hyundai and Genesis confidently hold a quarter of the Russian car market. Moreover, from month to month they even manage to increase gradually their market share. If in January-February they accounted for 23-24% of the market, then in May-June it was already 25-26%, according to AUTOSTAT data.

Recall that in 2021, Korean brands accounted for 22.6% of the market. A survey of a number of dealers, made by the agency "AUTOSTAT", showed that there are no special problems with the presence of Korean cars in dealerships now. You can find almost any model. The main deterrent is the high price. It managed to grow by 40-50% for six months, and not all potential buyers are ready for this. But there is good news to contain price increases. The other day it became known that in the coming months, the current stocks of locally assembled Korean models will begin to be replenished by Kaliningrad Hyundai, Kia and, possibly, Genesis.

The Koreans managed to complete the delivery cycle of a lot of assembly kits to Avtotor. Temporarily, this party was "suspended on the way" due to logistical and political problems after February 24th. Recall that Kaliningrad Avtotor organized the production of almost the entire model range of Koreans: Hyundai Elantra, Sonata, Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade, Genesis G70, G80, G90 and GV80, as well as Kia Seltos, Ceed, Picanto, K5, Cerato, Stinger, Soul, Sportage, Sorento, Carnival and Mohave. What exactly from this lineup will be assembled in June-July-August and in what quantity is not known yet exactly.
