Russian dealers of Renault sold 1,789 cars in May, which is 86% lower than the previous year. According to the results of five months of 2022, Renault sales in the Russian market were 26,412 vehicles, which is 54% lower than in the same period of the previous year. As a result, Renault ranked the fourth in sales among all automakers in Russia, and the brand's market share was 8.3% against 8.6% a year before, according to the AEB. The Duster crossover became Renault's bestseller in Russia – 561 consumers (-85%) chose it the previous month. The second place in Renault's lineup was occupied by Logan sedan, the sales of which were 361 units (-88%). The third result was shown by Renault Sandero hatchback – 315 sold cars (-86%). Crossover Renault Kaptur in May found 301 buyers, which is 83% lower than a year ago. Renault Arkana coupe-crossover finished the top-five of leaders with 250 sold cars (-85%).

As previously reported by "AUTOSTAT", on May 16th, agreements were signed on the transfer of Russian assets of the Renault Group to state ownership. As a result of the transactions, the shares in the assets will be distributed as follows: 100% of the shares of CJSC Renault Russia were transferred to the Moscow government, 67.69% of the shares of AVTOVAZ became the property of the Russian Federation represented by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise NAMI, subordinated to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The rest shares of AVTOVAZ were kept by Rostech.
