Gorky Automobile Plant sold 1,890 light commercial vehicles in May, which is 57% lower than a year ago. According to the results of five months of 2022, 13,119 GAZ vehicles (-32%) were sold in our country, according to the AEB. GAZelle remains the leader of sales with 1,307 sold cars the previous month (-65%). Demand for GAZ Sobol fell by 14% to 583 cars. It is worth noting that the Gorky Automobile Plant issued an order on a possible transition to a 4-day working week from May 19 to November 18, 2022 due to a possible drop in production volumes caused by problems with the supply of components and disruption of supply chains.
However, a shortened working week has not been introduced to date, and in June GAZ continues to work on a full working week schedule. As previously reported by "AUTOSTAT", the line of commercial vehicles of the new generation "GAZelle NN", which today includes an on-board modification, an all-metal van with a gross weight of 3.5 tons, a combi van and a minibus, will be further replenished with a chassis and various options for special equipment. As a result, on the basis of the GAZelle NN, an even wider range of light commercial vehicles with a gross weight of 3.5 and 4.6 tons, with various body types, wheelbases and special equipment options will be created than on the basis of the modern GAZelle NEXT platform.
