Avtotor spoke about the plans for the production of electric vehicles

Avtotor Kaliningrad plant, which is implementing a project to create the production of electric vehicles, is currently being determined with a model range. Alexander Sorokin, General Director of Avtotor Holding, informed the AUTOSTAT agency about it, by adding that the company does not refuse to produce cars with internal combustion engines, but relies on electric vehicles as a promising direction that will capture new market segments.

"Avtotor's existing and already created new production facilities can be used, among other things, to accommodate the production of electric vehicles. The construction of new buildings is at the final stage, which will house the production of automotive components. Next year, we must launch 7 new factories for the production of auto components, which are necessary for the production of electric vehicles and classic cars. We plan to produce electric engines, storage batteries. We will receive lithium-ion battery cells from the Rosatom enterprise, which is currently being created in the Kaliningrad region, and we will assemble the battery at our place.

Thus, co-production is obtained. It is also planned to produce control systems - there are a sufficient number of them in an electric car - this is the control of processes in the battery itself, the control of the engine - the power plant, the control of the charging process and all other systems that exist in the car. To date, we have already established the production of bumpers, seats, exhaust systems for classic cars - and these technologies will deepen. Many products will be supplied for our production by the Rosatom enterprise.

First of all, these are lithium-ion cells, energy storage systems, high-voltage wiring, connectors - something that is impossible to do without when producing electric vehicles", said Alexander Sorokin.
