Today, the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" holds the VII annual automotive business forum "UsedCars Forum - 2022. Market, programs, tools". The conference began with a report of the executive director of the agency, Sergey Udalov. He spoke about the current situation in the used car market. For the first 5 months of 2022, 1.82 million used cars were sold in Russia. Sales fell by 19.6% in compare with the same period of 2021. At the same time, the share of the segment of cars "up to 7 years" is 21%. Despite a serious drop, there are 6 used cars for every 1 new sold passenger car. Sales of the mass segment from January to May of this year fell by 20.3%.

The premium segment showed a "slightly better" result - minus 13.9%. The leaders of the mass segment are the brands LADA, Toyota and Hyundai. In the premium segment, the top-three includes Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi. The average price of a used car grew by 167% in compare with 2014. At the same time, cars "from 7 years old and older" went up by 156%, and used cars under the age of 7 years soared by 251% at once. The average cost of a used car is 1,162,977 rubles. Whereas in 2021 this figure did not exceed 1 million (787,752 rubles).
