Experts told why the demand for Chinese used cars is growing

In the secondary car market, a surge in demand for used cars of Chinese brands was recorded, although not so long ago, most Russians were skeptical about them. Thus, according to the AUTOSTAT agency, in January-April 2022, sales of Chinese used cars grew by 20% and turned out to be the only ones with a positive trend. Experts interviewed by the agency "AUTOSTAT" informed what caused this trend and what criteria should be used to choose a Chinese used car, given the fact that the quality of the Chinese car industry used to leave much to be desired. "The Chinese auto industry does not leave our market, there are no problems with spare parts, and there is an increasing interest in cars from the Middle Kingdom.

In these market conditions, they turned out to be quite pleasant in price, understandable for further operation (problems with spare parts and maintenance will not arise for sure). In addition, Chinese cars are quite well equipped, most of the line is crossovers (what a Russian buyer needs - it is a crossover with electronics)," says Denis Eremenko, director of PodborAvto. According to Denis Migal, CEO of the Fresh Auto dealership network, when choosing a used Chinese car, preference should be given to the freshest models - from 3 to 5 years.

Weak corrosion resistance of the body, lack of all-wheel drive, stiff suspension are the disadvantages of the Chinese car industry, which only get worse with age. In turn, Sergey Firsov, Executive Director of Expocar, notes that the leadership of old Chinese cars can be explained by the low cost of sales and low-cost maintenance. Some cars have been on the market for many years, their "sores" are known and the methods of treatment are also known. Out of production Chinese cars continue to drive on the roads of our country and receive proper service.
