In May, EAEU plants assembled 31% less vehicles for the Russian market than in April

At the end of May 2022, automotive enterprises located in the EAEU countries produced 22,630 vehicles intended for sale in Russia. This was found out by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" after processing and analyzing the relevant data of JSC "Electronic Passport". According to agency experts, May production was 31% lower than April and 82% worse than May 2021. Thus, in the previous spring month, car factories of the EAEU countries (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan) produced 10,881 passenger cars, which is 45% lower than in April.

Other 5,878 units were the production of trucks, which also decreased (-16%). But the LCV assembly, on the contrary, grew (+8% to 5,226 units). The rest 645 units are buses, the production of which decreased by 31%. Recall that in May, a part of the car plants in Russia were on corporate holidays, some were declared downtime due to a lack of components, and some continue not to work for the sake of the implementation of anti-Russian sanctions. In fact, the production of automotive equipment was carried out only at a few enterprises.
