There were named the best-selling LADA models in May of 2022

AVTOVAZ sold 6,012 LADA vehicles in the Russian market in May, which is 84% lower than a year before. Recall that the whole previous month AVTOVAZ was idle, which began with a planned corporate holiday, and then was repeatedly extended due to the ongoing shortage of auto components. According to the results of five months of 2022, Russian LADA dealers sold 67,230 cars, which is 58% lower than in the same period of the previous year.

As a result, the market share of LADA since the beginning of the year was 21.1% against 24.1% a year before, according to the AEB. AVTOVAZ's bestseller in May was LADA Granta, the sales of which were 2,305 vehicles (-82%). The second result was shown by LADA Vesta – 1538 sold cars (-85%). Cumulative sales of LADA Niva Travel and Niva Legend SUVs were 1,102 vehicles last month, which is 82% lower than a year ago. LADA Largus station wagon is the next with 642 cars sold (-87%). Sales of LADA XRAY model were 256 units (-93%).

As AUTOSTAT previously reported, AVTOVAZ began the preparations for the resumption of car production on the Granta line. Body welding started last Friday, the painting line will be filled on June 7th, and the production of the first commercial vehicles is scheduled for today, June 8th. At the same time, for the B0 and Niva assembly lines, the downtime has been extended until June 10th.
