New Chery Tiggo 7 PRO appeared in Russia

The new Chery Tiggo 7 PRO crossovers have been spotted in Moscow and, apparently, are intended for certification testing. The model will receive the prefix Max in the name, as indicated by the nameplate on the back door, writes the Chinese Automobiles portal. The updated Tiggo 7 PRO, which matches the design of the Chinese Tiggo 7 Plus, can be recognized by the “inverted” radiator grille, new headlights and foglights hidden in large niches, and Chery lettering on the rear door.

The interior of the car has a new combination of virtual instruments and a multimedia touch display, combined into a continuous long screen. In the Chinese market, the car received the same 1.5T engine that is used for the "7" model in Russia. Only in the Celestial Empire, it develops not 147 hp, but 156 hp, and is combined with both a CVT and a manual gearbox. But in the line there is also a more powerful version with a 1.6 engine with 197 hp paired with a “robot” 7DCT - in our country, such a unit produces 186 hp and it is installed on Tiggo 8 PRO and EXEED TXL.

In addition, Chery also offers a mild hybrid option: a 48-volt starter-alternator complements the 156-horsepower version. At the moment, Chery Tiggo 7 PRO has only front-wheel drive, but in the future, following the recent new Tiggo 8 PRO Max, the “7” model will also receive a 4x4 version. Thus, the company will expand its offer in the segment of SUVs with all-wheel drive transmission, which are in stable demand among Russians. It is worth noting that Chery Tiggo 7 PRO is the bestseller of the brand in the Russian market - in the first four months of 2022, it was sold in the amount of 2945 units (-32%).
