In 2022, the Neftekamsk Automobile Plant expects to increase the production of buses running on gas 2.3 times at the expense of federal subsidies. Denis Akimov, Deputy General Director of NEFAZ, spoke about it. “If we are talking about increasing the production volumes, we should talk about tools to increase these volumes. In addition to the large program “Safe and high-quality roads”, there is a special decree of the government of the Russian Federation, under which manufacturers of equipment using natural gas as a motor fuel are subsidized.

In 2020, we received 151 million rubles for 155 buses; in 2021 we spent 160 million rubles for 164 buses. The plan for 2022 is already 376 buses for 738 million rubles," TASS quoted Denis Akimov as saying. According to him, St. Petersburg buys most of the buses, Kemerovo Region is the second one, and Bashkortostan is the third one. Delivery of 63 gas buses is expected to Bashkiria.

In total, NEFAZ plans to produce 1,825 passenger buses this year, 1,118 of which are gas-powered vehicles. In 2021, the Neftekamsk plant produced 1,784 buses, among which 41%, or 742 units, are gas-powered buses.
