The production of passenger cars in Russia fell by a half

According to Rosstat, for four months of 2022, 264,000 cars rolled off Russian assembly lines, which is 47.4% lower than in the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, 20,000 cars were produced in April, which is 85.4% lower than a year before. It is worth noting that the production of a new medium-sized crossover Haval Dargo started in April at the Haval plant in the Tula region. At the same time, the vast majority of Russian car plants were still idle due to a shortage of components due to a break in supply chains due to the situation around Ukraine.

The production of trucks in January-April was 52.5 thousand units, which is 5.6% lower than the figure for the same period of the previous year. In April, 12.2 thousand trucks left the Russian conveyors, which is 30.4% lower than a year before. It should be noted that in April KAMAZ reduced the production by 15%, having produced 3803 trucks.
