In October there were record sales of Lada Priora and Kalina

In October 2008 AVTOVAZ dealers sold 56,700 Lada cars, up 7,800 units or 26 percent from last month. According to the forecasts of the analysts of AUTOSTAT in condition of the financial crisis many automobile brands will demonstrate negative dynamics in October that is why the current AVTOVAZ growth allows the Lada brand to increase its share on the Russian market. However in October 2007 the sales volume of AVTOVAZ was 70,300 cars and according to this figure the sales of October in this year decreased 19.4 percent.
Its worth mentioning that last month the family Lada Priora and Kalina showed sales volume record from the period they entered the market. Sales of Lada Priora constituted 14,000 units, up 2.3 percent from September 2008. For ten months of this year 110,200 units of this family were sold, up 68,900 cars or 167 percent from the same period last year. Sales of Lada Kalina in October reached 10,300 units, up 3,100 units or 44 percent form the September 2008. For ten months of 2008 there were sold more than 79,400 cars, up 17,000 units or 27 percent from the same period of 2007. Moreover in October the most volume of Lada 4x4 Niva SUVs were sold in 2008 which is about 2,900 cars (+19.3 percent from September). Sales of Lada Samara family grew 8.3 percent to 15,500 units. Sales of classic models increased 20.5 percent. 1,600 Lada 111 wagons were sold (+60 percent).
For ten months AVTOVAZ dealers sold 533,700 Lada cars, down 1.6 percent form the same period of last year when 542,500 cars were sold. From January to October AVTOVAZ exported more than 96,200 Lada cars, up 10 percent from the same period 2007.
