AVTOVAZ will resume the production with a simplified version of LADA Granta

The first model of AVTOVAZ, which will be released after a long downtime, will be LADA Granta in a simplified version. Such cars are expected to be on sale in the second half of June, the Vedomosti newspaper writes, citing LADA dealers. According to them, buyers will be offered two configurations. In the simplest version, LADA Granta will be produced without ABS, the ERA-GLONASS emergency warning system, airbags and power windows. A more equipped version will include power windows and electric power steering. Both configurations will be without Euro-5 environmental firmware, the engine will be a non-alternative 1.6 liter in the weakest version with 90 hp. To date, the cost of LADA Granta in the "Standard" configuration is 727.9 thousand rubles. This car has one airbag, ERA-GLONASS system and ABS.

According to the results of four years of 2022, sales of LADA Granta in the Russian market fell by 60% to 17,777 cars, which is attributed by AVTOVAZ to the crisis in the supply of electronic components, which most affected the production volumes of this model. As a result, the VAZ "low cost" car took the third place among the bestsellers in the Russian car market after Kia Rio and LADA Vesta.
