The production of passenger cars continues only at two plants in Russia

Mazda Sollers enterprise in Vladivostok extended its corporate vacation for an indefinite period the previous week, and on May 24th Avtotor did not resume the production after the May holidays. At least until the end of this week, AVTOVAZ also remains idle, which previously agreed on the supply of components with enterprises from China, but due to the lockdown announced in the country caused by a new outbreak of coronavirus, they cannot deliver products on time. Thus, according to the information of the agency "AUTOSTAT", at present, the production of passenger cars is carried out only at two enterprises - this is Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant and "Haval Motor Rus", which, by the way, should begin the deliveries to dealers of a new model in the nearest future - a medium-sized Haval Dargo crossover. The rest of the car plants in our country are currently idle.

The main reason for the forced stoppage of conveyors is officially called the lack of components due to the rupture of supply chains due to the situation around Ukraine. “Almost all car plants in Russia do not work. Most dealers still have cars, but they are in stock because they were produced and delivered before February 2022, and they are simply not sold out yet. The stock is filled with sales forecasts until the end of the summer, given that sales are very low. Let's hope that by the autumn the plants will establish their supply chains and start the work,” Aleksey Makarov, Director for Development and Corporate Management of the Nizhegorodets Company, informed AUTOSTAT agency.
