Renault Logan became the brand's bestseller in Russia in April of 2022

Russian Renault dealers sold 2,231 cars in April, which is 84% lower than the previous year. According to the results of four months of 2022, Renault sales in the Russian market were 24,623 cars, which is 44% lower than in the same period of the previous year. As a result, Renault ranked the fourth in terms of sales among all automakers in Russia, and the brand's market share was 8.4% against 8.6% a year before, according to the AEB. Renault's bestseller in Russia was the Logan sedan - it was chosen by 902 consumers the previous month (-75%).

The second place in the Renault model range was taken by the Duster crossover, the sales of which were 644 units (-83%). Renault Sandero hatchback showed the third result - 319 sold cars (-88%). As previously reported by "AUTOSTAT", on May 16th, the agreements were signed on the transfer of Russian assets of the Renault Group to state ownership. As a result of the transactions, the shares in the assets will be distributed as follows: 100% of the shares of CJSC Renault Russia will be owned by the Moscow government, 67.69% of the shares of AVTOVAZ will become the property of the Russian Federation represented by FSUE NAMI subordinated to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The remaining shares of AVTOVAZ will be retained by Rostech.

An important condition is the option for Renault to repurchase its stake in AVTOVAZ, which can be exercised within the next 6 years.
