The launch of the production of Ural motorcycles at the Russian UralMotorcycles plant in Petropavlovsk is scheduled for June 2022. This was reported in the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, by adding that at the initial stage, SKD assembly will be organized, in the future it is planned to increase the level of production localization. Motorcycles will be assembled in Kazakhstan for countries to which today it is impossible to supply vehicles from Russia. The vast majority of Ural motorcycles go to the USA, the European Union, Canada, Australia and Japan, with the USA being the main sales market - the company has several dealers in almost every state. For example, prices for the new 2022 Gear Up model start at $18.9 thousand (about 1.4 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
A new assembly site for Ural Motorcycles has been organized in Kazakhstan's Petropavlovsk, which is located 600 km from Irbit (Sverdlovsk Region), where the company's head plant is located. It will produce frames and body elements for motorcycles assembled in Kazakhstan and will continue to produce motorcycles for the domestic market. At the end of 2021, the Ural Motorcycles plant delivered 1,150 vehicles to consumers. This year it was planned to produce about 1,300 motorcycles, among which more than 80% are intended specifically for export.
In connection with the events around Ukraine, the volume of production will decrease, but the management of the enterprise plans to make up for the losses after the launch of assembly in Kazakhstan. Ural Motorcycles is the only company in the world engaged in the serial production of heavy off-road motorcycles with a sidecar.
