Dynamics of the Chinese car market in Russia in 2021
  • 09.12.21 Dynamics of the Chinese car market in Russia in 2021

For 10 months of 2021, more than 90 thousand new Chinese cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia. This is 109% (more than double) higher than the previous year's result. The experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" came to this conclusion, having analyzed the data of the AEB.

European sales of LADA fell by 63% in April

According to the results of April, 63 new LADA cars were sold in the countries of the European Union, which is 62.7% lower in compare with the previous year. Thus, a negative result was recorded for the first time after seven months of growth, which was first of all due to the low base of the previous year. Since the beginning of 2022, the sales of LADA cars in the European Union were 520 units, having increased by 7.9%, experts of the AUTOSTAT analytical agency stated (according to the results of ACEA data processing).

Recall that in the spring of 2019 AVTOVAZ decided to stop deliveries of LADA cars to Europe. The reason for leaving was called the tightening of environmental standards: the current Euro 6d-TEMP standard requires serious investments in the modernization of engines. Meanwhile, it was previously announced that LADA brand will return to the European market with a new generation LADA Niva SUV, which was planned to be introduced in 2024. However, the Renault Group recently transferred Russian assets to state ownership, and therefore LADA's export plans for Europe should be revised.
