In May sales of new cars may reach 25,000 units, less than in April

For the first two weeks of May, Russians bought 10,347 new cars, which is 7.5% lower than for the first two weeks of April (11,190 units). Such data were received by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" by the results of processing the relevant information by JSC "Electronic Passport" (EPTS). If for the period from May 2nd to May 8th, the sales volume were 5492 units, then from May 9th to May 15th - even lower (4855 units). On the one hand, this was influenced by the May holidays, but at the same time, we must not forget that many car plants were idle or were on corporate holidays at that time.

Apparently, for the remaining days of May (from the 16th to the 31st) the volume of sales of new cars will be higher, but given the current dynamics, their total sales for the whole month may be at the level of 25 thousand units. At the same time there were purchased 28,000 cars in April.
