In April of 2022, more trucks than LCVs were sold for the first time


For the first time for more than 15 years, trucks were sold more than light commercial vehicles per a month. Such interesting fact was discovered by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT", having processed and analyzed the data of JSC "Electronic Passport" (EPTS) on the market of new vehicles in Russia for April 2022. Thus, sales of new trucks in April were 5,503 units, and LCV - 4918. At the same time, if we consider the monthly statistics since 2007, then in terms of sales volume, LCVs have always been higher than trucks. The agency's experts note that the sales of LCVs in relation to the result of April 2021 fell more (-65%) than trucks (-44%).

It is also interesting that in the TOP-10 of brands among trucks, four showed positive dynamics: Ural (+31%), Shacman/Shaanxi (+506%), Howo (+180%) and Hyundai (+33%). Chinese brands pay special attention to themselves here - their total sales in April grew by 95%. This, in turn, allowed them to increase their market share from 5.3% to 18.4%, i.е. immediately 3.5 times!
