Sales of commercial vehicles fell more than twice in April

At the end of April 2022, there were sold 11,238 new commercial vehicles in our country. This was found out by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" based on the results of processing the relevant data of JSC "Electronic Passport". Experts note that the result obtained is 36% lower than in March (17,614 units), and 55% lower than the sales figure in April of 2021 (25197 units). However, if we consider the results of the previous five years, then the sales of commercial vehicles were worse at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic - in April and May 2020 (10,700 units in each month). Nearly a half (49%) of sold commercial vehicles included trucks in the previous month. The sales volume of new trucks was 5,503 units, which is 44% lower than in April of 2021. LCV sales decreased the most, down 65% to 4,918 units.

Buses suffered less than others (-32% to 817 units). If we consider the results of four months, then during this time 64.5 thousand new commercial vehicles were sold in the Russian Federation, which is 14% lower than the result of January-April of 2021. Sales of trucks were 27.6 thousand units (-6%), LCV - 32.3 thousand (-22%), buses - 4.6 thousand (+23%).
