Sales of new cars fell 4.6 times in Russia in April of 2022


Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia in April fell by 78.5% to 32,706 vehicles. According to the results of four months of 2022, the Russian car market was 293,846 vehicles (-43%), according to the data of the Association of European Businesses. Leadership in the Russian car market is held by the LADA brand, the sales of which decreased by 78% and reached 8506 cars the previous month.

The second place in terms of sales is kept by Kia - sales of 4604 cars (-76%) ensured the leadership of the Korean brand in the market of foreign cars. The third place is occupied by Hyundai with 4150 sold cars, which is 73% lower than a year ago. This is followed by Renault – cars of this brand were chosen by 2231 buyers (-84%). GAZ finishes the top-five, the sales of which decreased by 61% and reached 1892 cars.

The top-10 of best-selling brands in April also included UAZ (1620 units, -36%), Skoda (1104 units, -89%), Mitsubishi (867 units, -58%), Volkswagen (825 units, -91%) and Haval (812 units, -73%).
