Avtotor will go on corporate leave in May 2022

Kaliningrad Avtotor plant will suspend the production of cars during the corporate holiday, which will last from May 1st to May 22nd. This was reported to the agency "AUTOSTAT" in the press service of the enterprise, by adding that during this period the structures managing the construction and equipping of new production facilities and capacities created within the framework of Avtotor's obligations under a special investment contract will work in a regular mode. Employees of the Electroelement Design and Innovation Center and other departments involved in the implementation of the project to create the production of electric vehicles will also continue their work.

Recall that currently Avtotor continues the production of Kia and Hyundai models, while the BMW assembly line has been suspended. As Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, Anton Alikhanov, said in a recent interview with RIA Novosti, the situation at Avtotor, like at other automotive industries in Russia, is now quite complicated. Their work is negatively affected by a number of factors: this is the pressure of the American authorities on the countries that supply the main components, and the break in supply chains, not only in terms of semiconductors, but also in a number of other components needed in the automotive industry.
