KAMAZ will consider the possibility of producing vehicles in Myanmar

KAMAZ will send a group of specialists to Myanmar in May 2022 to study the production capabilities of this country. The Russian manufacturer is ready to consider a full range option: car production, personnel training, development of a service network. The offer is ready to form by June and submit for signing. As a part of the work program of the current visit, a group of KAMAZ specialists held a number of productive meetings and negotiations with representatives of government departments of Myanmar interested in the supply of products. The meetings were a continuation of earlier negotiations and presentations that the working groups held via videoconference. Recall that cooperation between KAMAZ and Myanmar has been ongoing since 2016.

In 2017, a truck sale, parts and service dealer was appointed in this country. In 2019, four KAMAZ-6460 tractors were delivered to the commercial sector, in total, 20 tractors are planned to be delivered under the contract with the dealer. In 2020, seven KAMAZ-43266 flatbed trucks were delivered. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, at the end of 2021, KAMAZ exported 5,822 trucks and assembly kits, which is 33.6% higher than a year ago. Last year, KAMAZ products were exported to more than 50 countries of the CIS, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America. As noted, the most significant export markets for PJSC KAMAZ are Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Vietnam.

Revenue from export sales was almost 23 billion rubles, including 3.4 billion rubles from the export of spare parts. In the structure of KAMAZ exports for 2021, the share of complete vehicles was 46%, and more than a half of the export volume (54%) was provided by the supply of assembly kits to assembly plants in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Lithuania and Azerbaijan.
