It became known details about the new Dacia Duster

The head of the Dacia brand, Denis Le Vot, in an interview with Automotive News Europe, spoke about what the new generation Duster crossover, which should appear in the market in 2024, will be like. The main thing to expect from the new Duster is the transition to the CMF-B platform, on which Logan and other Dacia models (and a lot of Renault models) are already built. According to Denis LeVot, the CMF-B platform is more modern than the current B0 and has much better customization options. This means that the next generation Duster will have more refined handling, but at the same time the level of comfort will remain the same or even higher. At the same time, in terms of its dimensions, the new car will be almost the same as the current one, about 4.3 m, the Autonews.ru portal writes.

Denis LeVota also said that the new Duster will keep its original philosophy: an inexpensive but comfortable car with huge off-road potential. As previously reported, it is planned to develop six variations of Duster for different markets (we are talking about adapting the car to the conditions of specific countries). At the same time, the project is considered as Romanian, and it will be supervised by Renault Technologie Roumanie (RTR), but with the involvement of foreign experts. Today, the second-generation Renault Duster crossover is available in Russia, which is offered with the previous 1.6-liter and 2-liter engines with 117 and 143 hp, respectively, as well as with a new 1.3-liter 150-horsepower turbo unit, working together with a 6-speed manual gearbox or with a CVT. As an alternative, the Duster is offered with an upgraded 1.5-liter diesel engine that produces 109 hp.

The car is available with front-wheel drive as well as all-wheel drive. According to the results of the first quarter of 2022, sales of Renault Duster in the Russian market grew by 16% and reached 8,526 vehicles. As a result, it entered the top three of the most popular SUV models in our country, analysts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" stated.
