Updated LADA Vesta can get an eight-valve engine

Production of the simplified LADA Vesta is to be started at the LADA Izhevsk plant in September. According to some sources, outwardly it will be a restyled car (index FL), but with the old interior design. The main difference between the simplified Vesta and the current versions is VAZ-11182 eight-valve engine paired with a VAZ manual transmission. Other details of the configuration of the "anti-crisis" LADA Vesta are unknown.

At a minimum, we should expect a temporary transfer to Euro-2, the removal of all (possibly, except for the driver's) airbags and the ERA-GLONASS system. Whether ABS and ESP systems will remain in the equipment of the flagship LADA model is also unclear. Note that AVTOVAZ does not comment officially on this information. As the First Deputy Prime Minister of Udmurtia Konstantin Suntsov said earlier, scarce electronics necessary for the production of LADA Vesta cars at the AVTOVAZ plant in Izhevsk can be created in Russia for the next two years. According to him, it is necessary to search for the necessary competencies for this.

Recall that in February 2022, LADA Izhevsk plant began the production of the updated LADA Vesta, which is expected to be on sale by the middle of the year. About 600 new parts and components were used in the restyled model, investments in the project were about 7 billion rubles.
