In March 2022, Russians bought 8,000 new premium cars, which is 42% lower than in the same month of the previous year. This conclusion was made by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" based on the results of processing and analysis of the relevant data of JSC "Electronic Passport". BMW remains the leader among premium brands - in the first month of spring, Russians became owners of 2,329 such cars (-37% by March 2021).

The second place was kept by Mercedes-Benz (2065 units; -45%), and Audi (852 units; -43%) is the third one, far behind. Thus, the share of the "big German three" accounts for approximately two thirds (65.6%) of all premium cars purchased in March. Japanese brand Lexus is the next in the ranking - its result was 615 units in March, by showing a drop of 67%. The TOP-5 of the Russian premium segment is finished this time by the German Porsche, the figure of which was 445 units, which is 38% lower than a year ago.

Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted that despite the fall of the market as a whole in the premium segment, some of its participants showed the growth in March. They are Genesis (+57%) and Jeep (+16%) vehicles. But Infiniti was able to repeat its own result a year ago. All other premium brands showed a decline, and the strongest decline was in the American Cadillac (-70%).
