    According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", for the first 9 months of 2018 the volume of import by legal entities of passenger cars (new and used) to Russia was 173.7 thousand units. Moreover, every third car arrived to us from Japan (57.2 thousand units), and every sixth one came from Germany (27.7 thousand units).

Rostech localizes an engine for KAMAZ and other vehicle manufacturers

Rostech State Corporation is localizing a new six-cylinder engine with a capacity from 400 to 500 hp. This was announced by the head of Rostech, Sergey Chemezov, by adding that these power units will be in demand not only at KAMAZ, but also among other Russian vehicle manufacturers, the TASS agency writes. He recalled that by 2023 KAMAZ intends to produce fully localized vehicles of the K5 generation. Thus, due to the suspension of the supply of imported components under the conditions of external sanctions, the bulk of KAMAZ's production is currently made up of Euro-5 K3 generation trucks.

Nevertheless, the production of vehicles of the K4 and K5 generations also continues, however, the stock of components is still the limiting factor in production. Therefore, today the main efforts of the company are aimed at localizing imported components and working with alternative Russian suppliers. As Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ, stated, the task of the enterprise is to start the assembly of K5 vehicles from January 2023 without the participation of foreign partners.

The initial volume of produced trucks will be small, but the company does not plan to abandon the promising line of vehicles, in the development of which a lot of money and time have been invested. In addition, today the top management of the company is taking a number of measures to organize the supply of components for the K4 line so that the assembly of these vehicles in demand on the market on the KAMAZ conveyor continues until the end of this year.
