It became known when simplified LADA models will appear

AVTOVAZ is preparing to launch special versions of some LADA models on the market in the coming months, which will be less affected by imported components. The first LADA model without ABS/ESP, ERA-GLONASS and airbags will be Granta and it will appear in June this year. Following it, in July, the Niva Legend SUV will be released, which will be simplified according to the same pattern. According to sources at AVTOVAZ, the first simplified copies of LADA Granta intended for certification have already been assembled.

New modifications will comply with the Euro-2 environmental standard. As for LADA Vesta, no simplified modifications of this model are planned yet, since supply chains are organized for it in such a way that even if ABS / ESP, ERA-GLONASS and airbags are removed from the equipment, one hundred percent localization is not possible. Therefore, AvtoVAZ's procurement specialists are now working in two directions - replacing European components with Asian ones and options for supplying parts through other jurisdictions that are independent of sanctions. As previously reported by AUTOSTAT, AVTOVAZ is on a corporate vacation from April 4th to 24th, which was postponed from July to August due to the ongoing crisis in the supply of electronic components and in order to prevent a significant reduction in employees' earnings. As noted, this decision will allow AVTOVAZ to accumulate the necessary stock of components to ensure more stable operation of enterprises in Togliatti and Izhevsk from April 25th, as well as in May 2022.

Meanwhile, due to the forecast of the Russian car market and the ongoing crisis in the supply of electronic components, AVTOVAZ introduces a 4-day working week at production sites in Togliatti and Izhevsk from June 6th, 2022 for a period of 3 months. The reduced regime applies to 100% of AVTOVAZ employees.
