Komatsu suspended the production of special equipment in Russia

The Japanese manufacturer of special equipment Komatsu has suspended deliveries to Russia and production at its plant in Yaroslavl. The company expressed its concern about the situation on the territory of Ukraine and noted serious problems due to disruptions in the supply chain, as well as continued unstable economic conditions. Recall that Japanese company Komatsu was founded in 1921 and today is a leading manufacturer of construction and forestry equipment, and also occupies a leading position in the markets of the CIS countries and East Asia.

The Komatsu Manufacturing Rus plant in Yaroslavl became the first Komatsu assembly plant in Russia and the 28th in the world. Investments in the construction of the enterprise were 4.274 million rubles (about 130 billion yen). At the same time, the Komatsu Group owns 93.2% in the capital of the plant; other 6.8% belongs to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The opening of the Komatsu Manufacturing Rus enterprise took place in September 2010 with the launch of the production of excavators, and in December 2011 the production of mining dump trucks began.

The plant in Yaroslavl performs a full assembly cycle of construction equipment: 20-40-ton excavators (PC200, PC210NLC, PC220, PC300, PC400) and HD785-7 mining dump trucks. The production capacity of the enterprise is 3 thousand units of hydraulic excavators and 100 units of mining dump trucks. About 400 people work at the Komatsu Yaroslavl plant.
