GM will open its Russian plant on the 6th of November

On the 6th of November the company General Motors plans to open the plant in Shushari near Saint Petersburg. Its establishment started in June 2007 and investments in the projects are estimated at $300 million.
At first the plant will produce Chevrolet Captiva and Opel Antara, in the middle of 2009 the launch of the new model Chevrolet Cruze has to start. It is planned that by the end of 2009 the GM Russian plant will work in full capacity which is 75,000 cars per year. Initially the production capacity of the plant was planned at the level of 30,000 cars per year.
