For the first 2.5 months of this year, prices for new cars of many brands in Russia have grown quite noticeably, but we wanted to see how much the minimum recommended retail price (RRP) has increased for the most popular models in the market. This was sorted out by the experts of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT", by using the data of the site "Avto Price" as of January 1st and March 18th, 2022. The most popular car on the market - the domestic LADA Vesta - has increased in price by 30% since the beginning of the year. And this is not the highest result in our rating. Today, the minimum cost of this model has exceeded the one million mark and amounts to 1 million 121.9 thousand rubles. Together with Vesta, two more models crossed this milestone - the Korean sedan Hyundai Solaris (as of March 18th, its minimum price is 1 million 245 thousand rubles) and the domestic station wagon LADA Largus (1 million 235.9 thousand rubles).
By the way, Largus in our TOP-10 for the specified period has the highest rise in price - almost 1.5 times! And the difference with the January price exceeds 400 thousand rubles. The cost of Japanese models Toyota RAV4 and Toyota Camry grew over the period by 23.1% and 21.4%, respectively. In ruble terms, this growth amounted to 440 thousand and 502 thousand Rubles. And these are only the prices recommended by the manufacturer, which may have different values in dealerships. Experts noted the minimum growth of RRP in LADA Niva Legend (+18%) or by 125 thousand rubles. And the most affordable among ten popular models is still LADA Granta - with a minimum cost of 727.9 thousand rubles.
Unfortunately, experts predict a further increase in prices for new cars, which will continue until the situation normalize with the ruble exchange rate, logistics, and the resumption of car deliveries and their production at stopped enterprises.
