New car sales fell by 63% in March 2022


Sales of cars and light commercial vehicles fell by 62.9% to 55,129 vehicles in Russia in March. According to the results of the first three months of 2022, the Russian car market was 277,332 vehicles (-28.4%), according to the data of the Association of European Businesses. Leadership in the Russian car market is held by the LADA brand, the sales of which decreased by 64% last month and reached 12,289 cars.

The second place in terms of sales is retained by Kia – sales of 6336 cars (-68%) provided the Korean brand with the leadership in the market of foreign cars. Hyundai is the third one with 4,909 sold cars, down by 68% from a year ago. This is followed by Renault – cars of this brand were chosen by 4,072 buyers (-65%). The top five is finished by Toyota, the sales of which decreased by 69% and reached 3231 cars. The TOP-10 of best-selling brands in March also included GAZ (2886 units, -36%), Skoda (2803 units, -71%), Nissan (2699 units, -53%), Volkswagen (2435 units, -74%) and UAZ (2206 units, -19%).
