Great Wall has patented the Tank 800 luxury SUV in Russia

The Chinese automaker Great Wall has patented in Russia a luxury frame SUV Tank 800, the schematic images of which are published in the open database of Rospatent. So far, we are talking about the rights registering to the design, because the “800th” has not appeared even yet in the Chinese market, but such an early application in the Russian department may indicate export plans. The serial Tank 800 may debut this year, Motor.ru writes. According to the images from the Rospatent database, the serial Tank 800 SUV will have a minimum of external differences from the last year's concept.

We are talking about a car with an overall length of over 5 m with a basic rear-wheel drive and a longitudinal engine. The show car at the Beijing Motor Show impressed with its spectacular four-seat interior and rich equipment. Most likely, the production version will be simpler, but we cannot rule out Great Wall's desire to compete with the new Lexus LX and Cadillac Escalade. For the concept, a power plant was announced based on a gasoline 3-liter V6 with two turbochargers. In the basic version, the unit produces 354 hp and 500 Nm, but a more high-torque hybrid with an electric engine built into the 9-speed automatic is in development.

Last year, Great Wall patented in Russia the "junior" SUV Tank 300, the production of which, according to sources, was planned to be established at the company's plant in the Tula region, but for known reasons, the plans of the Chinese auto giant may be revised. Meanwhile, Haval recently certified a new Dargo SUV in Russia, although there is no information about the terms of the appearance of new items in the Russian market yet. As previously reported by "AUTOSTAT", Russian dealers of Haval sold 3569 cars in February, which is 65% higher than the previous year.

As a result, Haval remains the leader in terms of sales among Chinese automakers in Russia, according to AEB data.
