GAZ suspended the production of heavy commercial vehicles for indefinite period

Yesterday GAZ suspended the production of heavy commercial vehicles �GAZel�, �Sobol�, �Valday� and �Barguzin�. The representative of GAZ Group said that �employees went on holidays with two-thirds of their wages�.
�The company charges banks with suspension of production of the most profitable GAZ products�, informs the agency ITAR-TASS. Sergey Zanozin, the president of the board of GAZ Group, considers that the problems on the automobile markets primarily began with banks. Real deficiency of interbank credit mechanism, lack of money of small banks where plant�s consumers got credits cut off consumers from credits. The position of large banks which received government support for liquidity sustention liquidity also assisted to it. �Money stayed in these banks�, said the representative of the company.
The representatives of GAZ Group especially underlined the fact that dealers and consumers still have no �real financial tools� and informed that �the date of assembly start of heavy commercial vehicles will depend on orders from dealers�.
At the moment GAZ works within the bounds of �anti-crisis program of flexible production and sales in crisis conditions�. �We do not intend to reduce staff�, stressed the representative of GAZ.
Other conveyers of GAZ Group in Nizhniy Novgorod work as usual. But Helen Matveeva, the vice chairman of the company says that GAZ Group does not exclude the possibility of suspension of other production at holding enterprises in the first decade of November. It�s worth mentioning that GAZ has already stopped the production of heavy commercial vehicles from the 6th to the 10th of October.
