Some foreign car manufacturers have already confirmed to the Ministry of Industry and Trade their intention to resume the work of factories in Russia, but the companies may have to part with some. This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov. "We are still in dialogue with all major brands. With someone, we have a clear understanding that they are preserved: both production capacities and the supply of components to our market. It is possible that, unfortunately, we will have to say goodbye to someone, because we cannot wait forever," said Denis Manturov. Recall that in early March, the government offered foreign companies three scenarios for work in Russia.
They concern, among other things, automakers that have not announced their withdrawal from the Russian market, but have temporarily suspended the supply of cars and spare parts. According to First Deputy Prime Minister, Andrey Belousov, the first option implies the continuation of work as usual, including maintaining the volume of supplies of components and the full load of enterprises. The second option is the sale of a share in joint ventures to the Russian side, and the Deputy Prime Minister did not mention the mandatory continuation of the supply of spare parts and components. The third scenario with a complete withdrawal from the Russian market, the closure of the enterprise and the dismissal of employees will be considered as deliberate bankruptcy. Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Kia, Geely, Chery and Haval have already confirmed that they will continue to operate in the Russian market as before.
German, British and American automakers have suspended the shipment of cars and spare parts to Russia until further notice. According to Denis Manturov, he expects that at the end of March - beginning of April he will be able to "come to a common denominator" with the companies and then already form plans for the further development of this or that enterprise.
