KAMAZ continues the production of K4 and K5 generation trucks

KAMAZ continues the production of K4 and K5 generation vehicles, despite the suspension of import components deliveries. Thus, in March, 537 vehicles of the new model range will be produced, including 315 units of the K4 generation and 222 of the K5 generation. The plan for April for the assembly of K4 and K5 is determined in the amount of 125 units, including 55 KAMAZ-54901 tractors. In May, it is planned to produce 214 K4 generation vehicles, the press service of KAMAZ reports. As noted, KAMAZ vehicles of the new model range are in demand in the Russian market, and their shipment to the dealer network continues, however, the stock of components is still the limiting factor in production.

Therefore, today the main efforts of the company are aimed at localizing imported components and working with alternative Russian suppliers. As Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ, stated, the task of the enterprise is to start the assembly of K5 vehicles from January 2023 without the participation of foreign partners. The initial volume of produced trucks will be small, but the company does not plan to abandon the promising line of vehicles, in the development of which a lot of money and time have been invested. A roadmap has been drawn up for the restoration of the production of trucks of the latest generation K5.

Difficulties with foreign partners under the sanctions ensured additional loading of KAMAZ's own capacities. In a short time of work in the new conditions, the management of KAMAZ decided on the loading of both the plants of the technological chain and the prospects for subsidiaries. The program for prompt return to the assembly of trucks of the K5 generation at KAMAZ has been formed. The development service is currently working on the details of this process.
