    According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", for the first 9 months of 2018 the volume of import by legal entities of passenger cars (new and used) to Russia was 173.7 thousand units. Moreover, every third car arrived to us from Japan (57.2 thousand units), and every sixth one came from Germany (27.7 thousand units).



KAMAZ intends to localize completely the production of K5 trucks


KAMAZ sets itself the task of starting the assembly of K5 vehicles from January 2023 without the participation of foreign partners. The initial volume of produced trucks will be small, but the company does not plan to abandon the promising line of vehicles, in the development of which a lot of money and time have been invested, the press service of KAMAZ reports.

As Yury Gerasimov, First Deputy General Director of KAMAZ, Executive Director, noted, today all efforts are aimed at localizing the latest generation and its flagship, the KAMAZ-54901 tractor. According to him, a roadmap has been practically drawn up for the restoration of the production of trucks of the K5 generation. Difficulties with foreign partners ensured additional loading of KAMAZ's own capacities, and its subsidiaries in other regions are also provided with orders. The assembly of K5 vehicles continues in March, and there is a plan for April, but a small one - limited by the stock of components.

Recall that due to the suspension of supplies of components from Europe, KAMAZ is adjusting its production plan for the coming months. According to Yuri Gerasimov, trucks of the K3 generation of the Euro-5 class will make up the bulk. The pace of assembly of K5 cars will decrease temporarily in favor of the K3 generation, although, in general, the prospects for the supply of components, taking into account the localization plans, are quite stable. As for K4 line, KAMAZ is completing the assembly of these trucks ahead of schedule, for which the current year should initially be the last one according to the company's development strategy.
