Automotive production grew by 9% in Russia in 2021

Last year, car plants located in the Russian Federation produced 1 million 568.2 thousand units of automotive vehicles, which is 9.2% higher than in 2020. Such data are contained in the report “Automotive industry in Russia. Results of 2021, prospects”, prepared by the analytical agency “AUTOSTAT”. More than 85% of this volume falls on cars –they were produced in the amount of 1 million 340.9 thousand units the previous year (+ 7.4% by 2020).

Trucks occupied 12% in the structure of production (including light commercial vehicles), among which 190.6 thousand units were assembled - 24.3% higher than a year before. The rest approximately 2.5% belong to the bus segment, among which 36.7 thousand units were produced in 2021 (including minibuses). And this figure is 6.5% higher than a year before.
