AVTOVAZ assembled the first pre-production car of the new LADA B-class model, which was presented to the company's president, Nicolas Maure. According to the official plan of AVTOVAZ, two new LADA B-class models will appear in 2023, which will have nothing in common with the LADA Granta family. According to unofficial data, the new LADA B-class model will be built on the Renault CMF-B LS platform. Production of the novelty is planned to begin in 2023 on the assembly line, where LADA Granta cars are produced today.
For some time, both models will be produced in parallel, while the production of "Granta", in its turn, should be transferred to the assembly line, which is now assembling SUVs of the Niva family. As a reminder, in January 2021, the Renault Group, as a part of the new strategic plan Renaulution, created a new business unit Dacia-LADA, which will strengthen the production synergies between brands through the use of a highly cost-competitive and flexible CMF-B platform in combination with the most high localization factor. AVTOVAZ and Dacia will remain separate companies with their own history and strategy, which together will produce more than 1 million vehicles based on CMF-B annually, moving from 4 platforms to one and reducing the number of body types from 18 to 11.
By 2025, AVTOVAZ will bring to market four new LADA models, which will be based on the CMF-B platform. So, for 2023, the release of two B-class models is planned. In 2024, a new generation Niva SUV should enter the market, which will be produced in two versions - with a compact and extended wheelbase. In addition, a medium-sized C-class crossover will appear in the AvtoVAZ lineup for the first time - it may well be a converted Dacia Bigster, the concept of which was presented in 2021.
