Automakers have received a deferral for the payment of recycling fees

The government decided to defer payment of the recycling fee to support domestic automakers. Thus, the deadline of the recycling fee paying for the 1st-3rd quarters of 2022 has been postponed to December, while the automotive industry enterprises that are under sanctions can pay the fee for the 4th quarter of 2021 also in December 2022, the press service of the Russian government reports. The postponement will affect enterprises employing at least 5,000 people and their subsidiaries. As noted, the decision was made to ensure the stability of the financial activities of automotive manufacturers in the current economic situation and sanctions pressure.

Postponing the payment of salvage fees should help to solve the problem of a shortage of working capital and avoid the threat of delays in paying salaries to employees. Recall that such a support measure was already used by the government during the period of epidemic restrictions and allowed large domestic automakers to keep their economic potential. Today, the base rate of the recycling fee for a passenger car in Russia is 20,000 rubles, and for a truck - 150,000 rubles.

Budget spending on state support for the automotive industry through a number of subsidies in 2022, as reported, was planned in the draft budget of the Russian Federation for a three-year period at the level of 392.9 billion rubles.
