Avtotor increased the production by 13% in 2021

According to the results of 2021, Avtotor Kaliningrad plant produced more than 177 thousand vehicles, which is 13% higher than a year ago. As "AUTOSTAT" was informed by the press service of "Avtotor", the largest share in the production volume of the enterprise was occupied by Kia cars, the assembly of which was over 119 thousand units.

Among the new Kia products that appeared at Avtotor the previous year there is Kia Carnival crossover, the updated Kia Stinger, Picanto, Ceed, as well as Cerato, the production of which has been launched in full cycle since November. The production of Hyundai and Genesis cars was more than 43 thousand units, including the new generation Hyundai Santa Fe and Tucson crossovers, as well as the new Genesis GV70 mid-size crossover, the production of which started at Avtotor the previous year. There were assembled 12 thousand BMW cars.

In addition, the production of commercial vehicles exceeded 1.5 thousand units. It is worth noting that in 2021 Avtotor produced the first lot of vehicles with a gas engine power plant. The project to create gas-powered modifications of Hyundai trucks is being implemented in a scientific and technical partnership by Avtotor, Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) and RariTEK (Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan).

As a part of the project of the serial production of Hyundai HD 78 vehicles running on compressed natural gas, Avtotor mastered the production of a new modification of the CNG chassis. In production, cars are equipped with Yuchai power unit and gas-cylinder equipment developed by the Russian company RariTEK.
