Ukrainian car plants "LuAZ" and "Bogdan" put up for auction

Ukrainian car plants in Lutsk (LuAZ) and Cherkassy (Bogdan) were put up for auction. The starting price of the lots is 2.7 million dollars, bidding is expected on March 3rd. A new owner is being sought for land plots, production buildings, warehouses, laboratories and future premises. The plant at the box office in the period from 2009 to 2014 produced domestic models LADA 110 and LADA 111 under the Bogdan brand.

In July 2021, he was declared bankrupt. Until 2009, the owner of the company was the ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. According to Oleg Omelnytsky, General Director of the Ukrainian information-analytical group AUTO-Consulting, the workshops went on sale, designed to expand the production. The plant in Lutsk, which produced the LuAZ-969 Volyn off-road vehicles, has been reoriented to the assembly of buses and trolleybuses since 2006.

For the whole previous year, about 100 units were produced, although the production capacity is designed for 4.5 thousand. In the early 2000s, the assembly of UAZ and LADA cars was launched at an enterprise in Lutsk; the production of Volyn was closed in 2002. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in 2021 the citizens of Ukraine bought almost 2 thousand new LADA cars. This is about three times higher than in 2020.
