Renault Duster of first generation is out of production

In Russia, the production of Renault Duster crossovers of the first generation ended a year ago, in Brazil - back in 2020, and the European Dacia Duster changed the generation already in 2017. However, cars of the first generation continued to be produced in India, and the local Duster was even subjected to a separate upgrade in the summer of 2020, which brought him a redesigned 1.3 turbo engine and a CVT.

But now the Indian history of the Duster has also come to an end: the production at the Renault India plant has been completed, and there are no plans to produce second-generation crossovers there. Thus, the first generation Duster lasted 12 years on the assembly line: it was launched under the Dacia brand in Romania in the spring of 2010. In addition to the countries already listed, the model was assembled in Colombia and Indonesia. However, two varieties of the "first" Duster still remained in service. Firstly, this is Nissan Terrano: crossovers are produced at the Renault Moscow plant, and the Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) for this model is valid until December 2023. And secondly, the Renault DusterOroch pickup truck is still being produced in Brazil, and its conveyor life is far from over. According to preliminary information, there will be no similar pickup truck based on the second generation Duster, but instead, a restyling of the existing model is being prepared.

It is worth noting that in Russia more than 450,000 first-generation Renault Duster crossovers have been produced at the Renault plant in Moscow since the start of production in December of 2011. Recall that in March 2021, the second-generation Renault Duster crossover was introduced to the Russian market.
