Lexus NX sales of the new generation began in Russia

Lexus dealers in Russia have begun the accepting of orders for the second-generation Lexus NX mid-size crossover, introduced in June of the previous year. To date, buyers are offered versions of the Lexus NX 250 with a 2.5-liter engine producing 199 hp and Lexus NX 350 with a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine producing 279 hp, which are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The cost of the model ranges from 4 million 106 thousand rubles to 5 million 895 thousand rubles, the press service of the Japanese brand reports. The new Lexus NX is based on the Global Architecture K (GA-K) platform, which features a low center of gravity (-20 mm), larger front and rear wheel tracks and better weight distribution between the front and rear axles. In compare with the first generation NX, the overall length of the new model has increased by 20mm, wheelbase by 30mm, width by 20mm and height by 5mm.

The new NX keeps the Lexus' signature spindle grille, which is upright and has a thinner frame. The car features wider front and rear chassis based on the Global Architecture K (GA-K) platform, a long, sleek hood, short overhangs, and flared wheel arches to accommodate larger wheels up to 20 inches in diameter. Also it should be noted the new L-shaped combination lamps with Lexus signature lighting across the whole width of the car.

As for the interior, one of the innovations is touch-sensitive switches on the steering wheel, which can be configured to control the most requested functions. It is also worth noting that the new Lexus NX is the brand's first model to receive the latest generation Lexus Safety System+.
