AVTOVAZ supplier predicts a semiconductor crisis by the end of 2022

The semiconductor crisis will continue to affect negatively the supply of automotive electronics components from Bosch to AVTOVAZ until the end of 2022. This was stated by the president of Bosch in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia, Mongolia and the Caucasus, Steffen Hoffmann, according to whom, the situation has not been resolved yet and remains critical. “So far, we have all the same problems that will have an impact for much of this year.

But we hope to see a slight recovery by the end of the year,” said the head of the Bosch division, by answering a question about deliveries to AVTOVAZ. He clarified that this refers, in particular, to blocks of ABS and ESP systems produced at the Bosch Samara plant (Robert Bosch Samara LLC), which were significantly affected by the shortage of chips. In addition, the important customers for Bosch are KAMAZ and the GAZ Group, the deliveries of which were less affected by the shortage, as they are supplied with products from semiconductors of a different type than that going to AVTOVAZ.

Recall that the assembly lines at AVTOVAZ have been operating intermittently since June of the previous year. This is due to problems with the supply of electronic components from the Robert Bosch Samara company, which, in turn, is experiencing difficulties in working with its suppliers. Meanwhile, earlier AVTOVAZ refused "black" Saturdays in the next two months due to the continuing shortage of electronic components.
